Marco and Adelia Bommassar started their adventure back in the ‘60s.
Over 50 years, with the help of their daughters, sons in law and grandchildren, they have achieved the status of Trentino tourism landmark.
Small Hotel Al Sorriso is now a comprehensive tourist facility, able to meet all our guests' holiday, wellness and leisure requirements.
The Bommassar family are proud of this prestigious achievement!
On our 50th business anniversary, in collaboration with SuperGulp! studio, Florence, Hotel Al Sorriso organized a contemporary art contest to give young creative talents the opportunity to exhibit their extraordinary scale works on the former 260 sq m concrete tennis court.
The goal of the owners was to improve the area’s aesthetics and emotional impact while presenting young artists with the chance of creating and carrying out artistic projects within a vast area, transforming it into an artistic experimentation workshop and showcase.
The winner of the international contemporary art contest was Simone Bossi from Varese, who had the honour to install his creation in the space provided by the hotel.
From a distance the wood appears like a quiet, closed, detached entity reflecting in the lake waters. It sets the importance of such distance and adjusts the perception that humans have of it.
Yet, as soon as we approach it, we realise that a closer view reveals that the surface, which seemed sealed and impenetrable, gradually exposes options for pursuing new directions.
Finally, the wood experience expresses the intuitive search for ever-changing paths that, according to sun ray inclination, try to penetrate this suspended reality, leading us to places sometimes broad and open and sometimes more inaccessible and mysterious.
260 sq m dedicated to a project that treasures and shares this incredible experience. Visitors can just linger and focus on the surroundings, forgetting all the rest.
